In a recent meeting held at Netaji Chowk in Saswad, Purandar, decisions were made regarding OBC (Other Backward Classes) and reservation awareness in the Bahujan society. Efforts are being made to organize an OBC reservation protection meeting in Purandar. An indication was given by Anil Ladkat, the president of Pune district equality council, that while creating independent reservations for the Maratha community, it should not be included in the OBC reservation, or else the OBC community will protest.

     During the meeting at Netaji Chowk in Saswad, Aba Bhongale suggested the establishment of the Purandar Taluka OBC Reservation Protection Committee. Chagan Bhujbal, the Minister of Food and Civil Supplies, will be present at the program organized in Mahatma Fule Wada on the occasion of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule's memorial day. Sanjay Avate will be honored with the Samata Award during the program.

    The Purandar Taluka OBC Reservation Protection Committee was established during the meeting. Aba Bhongale suggested that Chagan Bhujbal should be made the patron of the entire taluka for OBC reservation. Rahul Girme emphasized that while reservation is essential for both OBC and Maratha communities, it should not lead to conflict between the two.

    The President of the Samata Parishad, Chandrakant Girme, along with Nilam Hote, Suhas Landge, Rahul Girme, Vijay Wadane, Santosh Girme, Rohidas Kudale, Kishor Vachak, Sagar Jagtap, Ganesh Korpade, Rajendra Barkade, Nitin Raut, Sachin Bhongale, Shrikant Tilekar, Jyoti Vanakhede, Swati Vanakhede, Chandrakant Hivarkar, Subhash Hivarkar, Yogesh Jambhulkar, Sanjay Tilekar, Sharad Chaukhande, Bharat Chaukhande, Manoj Mehetre, Nitin Bhongale, Mangal Mehetre, Shital Bankar, Priya Jagtap, Sandeep Raut, Hiramane Hivarkar, Rahul Raut, Girish Girme, Rupesh Mehetre, Appa Hole, and Adi Manyavar were present at the meeting
